Galen Reports

Morning Report

  • The Morning Report alerts managers of the need to order a part or another item whose inventory has reached a critical level. All of the specifics of an order are presented. This includes when, how much and where to order. The minimum costs of items to be ordered are calculated to reduce overall inventory expenses. Daily alerts assist with the management of supplies by reducing the probability of out-of-stock requests and conversely by decreasing bloated inventories and unsold or unused items. Given that an order is reviewed and is approved by management, it can be placed automatically.

Forecasting

  • Deep learning neural nets are applied to solutions for supply chain management
  • Prediction upon historical records for demand of supply and drug types
  • Prediction of future physician services or drug types based upon historical records of patients with similar symptoms
  • Time series analysis based upon trends and seasonal utilization
  • Prediction of future medical supply requirements or drug prices

Cost Analysis –
Inventory Management

  • A set of algorithms assists with planning, forecasting and prioritization of drug purchases
  • Cost Analysis reports include the following:
    • Morning Report – Inventory alert of supplies that are required
    • Inventory Control – How much, when and where to order
    • Product Utilization – Rate of product usage

Cost Optimization

  • Galen imports client records of current Medical/PPE/Pharma supply usage and asset costs. Distributor data is reviewed, and a continual review of updates provides a health care enterprise with the capability to select minimum purchase costs and to maximize profits daily. The following example reports are available:
    • Minimum prices
    • Time to deliver
    • Distributor reliability
    • Quality of product

Pharmaceutical Drugs

  • The same algorithms that are used for medical supply optimization and analysis are applied to pharmaceutical drugs. Distributors that market drugs are searched for minimum pricing rather than supplies. Analysis and report generation are based upon client drug requirements and historical data. Galen includes numerous algorithms and processes to deal with Pharmacy Benefit Managers (PBMs). These include rebates, Generic Effective Rates (GER), Direct and Indirect Reports (DIR) and PBM claw-backs. PBM activity is made transparent and subject to negotiations.

Insurance and
Medicare Formularies

  • Insurance organizations and Medicare restrict the types of drugs that they insure.  Insurance plans place drugs into different “tiers” on their formularies. Each tier includes a set of drugs and a CoPay that the patient is responsible for. Generally, a drug in a lower tier will cost a prescriber more than a drug in a higher tier. Galen searches through the tiers to identify the maximum savings for a prescriber. A doctor prescribing a drug adheres to constraints while producing least cost benefits for a patient.
