Maintenance of Fleets
- The maintenance of large-scale fleets and freights is hampered by the required availability of parts, labor, and available work sites. Galen expands the number of fleets and freights that can be brought to an operational capability by identifying the best vendors for supply acquisitions and helping to ensure that all necessary functions occur as required.
Freight Distribution
- For cases of many fleet and freight-stand drop sites, the proper loading of vehicles and the determination of routes becomes a difficult and complex procedure. For example, 50 sites are to be visited by only 15 vehicles. The best routes for all vehicles are calculated by Galen such that distance traveled and fuel consumption are minimized. The best way to load cargo such that a correlation exists with optimized drop sites is identified. Given that a breakdown occurs, the best rerouting strategy for all vehicles is provided so that all drop sites are reached. Calculations by Galen are in near real-time.
Resource Allocation
- Personnel are assigned to jobs optimally. Each project is prioritized. Often there are less personnel available than the number required. Multiple skill levels are identified. Personnel at all skill levels are allocated to highest priority jobs. Other domain constraints can be imposed upon the allocation process.
Manufacturing
- Assembly lines with multiple tasks and workstations are addressed. Several jobs arrive daily that require processing. Jobs have different tasks to be allocated to workstations. Assignments of tasks to workstations are optimized so that the daily output flow of jobs is maximized.
