Galen Pharma Decision Support System (DSS) presents a menu to a user with options to conduct Cost Optimization, Cost Analysis or select from a list of additional customization reports that address several functions that assist with compliance, managerial and administrative highlights. For example, running accounts are displayed of previous sales for Brand, Generic and Specialty drugs. Using available distributor files, searches can be made to substitute Brand drugs with Generic drugs to reduce cost. Other possibilities include a computation of a future estimated demand for a drug and optimized inventory control. The Galen DSS highlights PBM transparency, reduces cost of required drugs and amplifies the profits in near real time.
